Royal Ascot

Have you ever wanted to see the Queen in real life? Or maybe wear a fabulous big hat? Or maybe try your luck in horse racing? Well then you need to go to Royal Ascot.

This year was my 4th time visiting Ascot and every year it just gets better. I look forward to it every year and often buy my hat and dress far in advance. It’s just a fantastic day out full of glamour, fashion, champagne, lots of fabulous hats and of course horse racing. I usually go with my mum and her husband and we prefer going on the first day when everything is still fresh and there is a lot of excitement in the air for the days to come.

If you do decide to go to Ascot I suggest you should definitely place a few bets as it is just so much more fun when you have a horse to support. I personally am complete novice when it comes to horse racing (although this year I took it more seriously and did my research in advance) but I place bets on every race and get so into! There is just something so exhilarating when the commentators voice is getting faster and the finish line getting closer and the whole crowd starts to shout for their horse. If you win the excitement is overwhelming but if you lose it’s just another reason to have more champagne.

The sing along with the live band at the end is one of my favourite parts of the day, when everyone come together and the whole place is full of joy. And even if I lost more than I won who cares… I had so much fun and that’s all that matters!

The dress:

For the past 3 years in Ascot I wore dresses from ChiChi London. In my opinion, their dresses are perfect for an occasion like this and I always feel truly wonderful when I wear their designs and get quite a few compliments:) I completed the outfit with a a blue and white hat from a hat boutique, Furla bag and my Prada shoes.

I suggest buying your hat far in advance as they will be cheaper or even right after Ascot in the sales.
