Who said that you need to travel all the way to a French province to see lavender fields? Around an hours drive from London, you can find Hitchin Lavender fields that are just as beautiful as the ones you see all over Instagram. For only a £6 entrance fee you will get your own scissors and a little bag in which you are welcome to collect lavender to take home. We mostly went for the photos of course 😉 I recommend going early in the morning. It opens at 10 am and even at that time, it was already pretty busy. As you can imagine it got even busier as the day went by. I also suggest you wear something long as there were a lot of busy bees flying around.
After collecting lavender and taking some photos I suggest you visit the main cafe for some delicious lunch and tasty home made cakes. The cakes were so good I even bought an extra one to take home:)
